According to Mel Robbins, there is a 5 second window for all of us.
This 5 second window is the moment when the inner wisdom and instinct of a person, combined with situational intelligence and life experience is telling you to do something, to take action, or speak out - your brain has 5 seconds to shut it out. Most people tend to pull the emergency brake - something that prevents us from accomplishing the aimed task.
Our mind is designed to do 3 things: regulate our bodies, when sleeping, shutting down half of the brain and the other half turns into memories, and protects us. Our brain protects us by magnifying risk and projecting fear.
The problem with people is that we usually know what we need to do. We know that we should probably be doing our work or chores or whatever it is we need to do, however we are constantly procrastinating by pulling the emergency brake - without even realizing.
How can we overcome this? When waking up in the morning, and the alarm is telling us to wake up, we must acknowledge the fact that we must wake up right now, count from 1 to 5 and simply wake up.

When using this habit on a daily basis, we rarely skip the things we don’t want to do.
If we apply this habit to our daily lives, it is less likely we are going to end up procrastinating.
Simplicity is the highest level of sophistication. The little things make the biggest differences. True change comes to 5 second windows. When using the 5 second technique, we are able to avoid all the self doubt and excuses.
Time is the most valuable thing ever. It can't be bought or taken back or stopped. So why do we spend so much time procrastinating then? Because we are simply not aware of the basic structure of the brain. We are not aware of why we procrastinate, which leads me to my next point.
To solve the problem,or any problem, we need to find it’s root. The root of the problem is the uncomfortable feeling of being outside of your comfort zone.
People don’t like feeling those emotions that make them feel angry, frustrated or simply out of their element. Moreover, we will never achieve success unless we get out of our comfort zones.
The people that are very successful, understand this. That’s why they are incredibly successful. They understand the power of now. Citations: Mel Robbins - One of the Best Talks ever in Self - Motivation

To me, it is all about the big data your brain has been processed and is processing right now while you are reading my comment. I am talking about the things we read, we watch, conversations that we take part of, different feelings that we experience, etc. So, in order to be able to control our brain (I wouldn't even call it "control", cause we can't really do that) what we can do is to feed our brain with healthy and colorful "food"/data. If we have this kind of "healthy brainstyle" then, the "sabotage" Mel Robbins mentioned in her statement could turn into a good thing to help us in decision making. Then it would be okay to think as…
